Recently, we made just 3 changes to our client’s video strategy that took them from zero engagement to actually generating leads.
Here’s what we did…
Firstly, we stopped cramming everything into one video.
It’s something we see all the time – most businesses create one video with that’s packed with messages, and multiple people saying multiple things all within the same 60 to 90 seconds.
We pulled their video apart, and created one video for each individual purpose instead. Now, they have more content to work with, and each piece is coherent and impactful.
Secondly, we introduced 3 hooks to every video.
We often hear in marketing how important a hook is, but we try to use 3…
1) A visual hook, something that catches the eye before anything is said and done.
2) A text hook (often the one that people forget about!) – this refers to the captions or copy shown on screen.
3) An audio hook; the first thing that comes out of your mouth in the first 5 seconds.
People often try to plan in one hook for each video, but in our experience adding all 3 is probably the best thing you can do for your video content.
Lastly, we experimented with different video styles.
While consistency in video can be great, if you post the same format ever single week, your audience goes numb. They stop seeing your content, and they scroll right past. Variety keeps people paying attention, and gets your message heard.
These three changes are how we took one client and one budget, and gave them video content that actually gets results.
